Our club has one or two manual extractors (possibly an old wobbly, tangential one and a new smooth radial one), plus we have a new motorized radial extractor (for those that are experienced in or have been instructed in the proper use). These are available for check-out by MEMBERS regularly attending and recently attending who are in good standing ONLY, AND there are rules and stipulations (not an automatic privilege, right nor perk of membership). Extractor Purchase History/Details - 2021
Update on purchase of two extractors for our club. One 8 Radial / 4 Tangential Extractor Manual Crank (for member check out) and One Motorized 8 Radial / 4 Tangential Extractor (for club use, and check out by qualified/trained members). Both extractors have been received. Dennis had both extractors to present at August Meeting to club and for Beau who will keep for checkout and training purposes. Our motorized extractor was used by Keith at Honey Bee Day (August 21, 2021) in the honey harvesting, uncapping, extracting demonstration. Keith also has checked out the motorized extractor for educational demonstration on August 31, 2021.
As per passed motion at May's meeting we approved purchase of these two extractors (maximum amount approved expenditure $1000), but actual delivered price was less than $800 total for both extractors. We did get them for less than $800; however, now they may have gone up, so we did good getting them when we did.
