TOPIC: Swarm the State!

SPEAKER: Sam Comfort

He will also have some HONEY and CANDLES for sale!

BIO: Sam Comfort (founder of Anarchy Apiaries) is a renowned treatment-free, pioneer of natural beekeeping known for his innovative, bee-centric approach to natural and treatment-free beekeeping and raising locally adapted queens. His engaging, down-to-earth speaking style makes complex topics approachable, sustainable practices, and a master of alternative hive styles like top-bar and horizontal hives and small-cell hives.

Sam brings years of hands-on experience and a unique perspective on queen rearing, genetic diversity, and cultivating resilient, locally adapted bees. Sam's focus on fostering self-sustaining colonies is both inspiring and practical for beekeepers of all levels.
His passion, humor, and wealth of knowledge will leave everyone inspired to explore new possibilities in treatment-free beekeeping.

This is your chance to learn from one of the most innovative minds in beekeeping and gain insights you can use in your own apiary. Let’s gather, learn, and celebrate the art of sustainable beekeeping!

Frame Assembly Workshop at a previous meeting's workshop

Picture
Workshop (Frame Assembly using Frame Assembly Jig) and Meeting went well on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Dennis handed out plans for one of the many frame assembly jigs similar to the one he uses and also similar to the one demonstrated at this workshop. Following the business meeting he spoke a little on foundationless frames (handout for notebooks were passed out to members). Marc was out of town, but we have planned an apiary hands-on day in apiary and we will also assemble supers and frames, swap out bottom boards, check on queens and colony progress on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00 am (Marc should be back then). Check future Facebook posts and website often for updates. https://www.basfbees.org/frame-assembly.html
